prcttybcy:

Sebastian was skeptical upon hearing his first
few words, his brows furrowing. It wasn’t often he
had anyone to accompany him during affairs —–
come to think of it, NEVER was it that anyone was
present to accompany him. Maybe once or twice,
but he personally couldn’t recall any other time.

He never understood why it was that way, either.
He was kind as he could be ( most of the time ),
he memorized every single detail about manners,
all the way from being polite to certain hand gestures
or words one might find offensive. He studied hard,
he was smart ( all for what? Most certainly not for
himself. Acceptance, maybe. Or it may have just
been his parents nagging that made him work harder
          at everything ).

In his own eyes, he was nearly perfect. Sure, he
had a long way to go, but overall he had the necessary
requirements a good noble would have, and then
some. Even going about his problems in his own
way, he had done so much as to manage his sickly
features under make-up, frills, and smiles. Was he
          missing something…?

Realization had struck him, leaving him flabbergasted
not to mention very thankful he was able to persuade
him. Knowing the other may have had his own reasons,
or they weren't precisely for Sebastian, a smile appeared
on his face before he embraced the other. “Thank you,
Ciel! You won’t regret this decision — !yet. “It will be
great, I can even help find some suitable attire for you!“

He instantly froze on the spot, when the arms of
another boy locked him in a grateful embrace.
He rarely allowed anyone to approach him so
close, but still he didn’t push Sebastian away.
He didn’t move, only reviewed all the said words
and attempted to imagine how the mentioned
evening will occur, hoping he will not regret.

There was a strong feeling of distrust within his
heart, a hidden fear of pain, which could overtake
him again… These little inner beasts could go
furious if someone would dare to disturb their
peace. And they would reply with cruelty for the
caused damage. They would never forgive and
would never forget. A small boy with a wounded
soul could easily change his masks. Yet the most
scary fact was how it wasn’t he who truly changed,
it was the world what actually believed.

He pat Sebastian on the back with his delicate
hand carefully. This guy presented a pretty rare
combination of important qualities for any decent
aristocrat. It would be quite depreciatingly to leave
him alone in the company of predators that created
the famous beau monde.

             ❝ ——  Alright, alright…  ❞

He moved away to collect all those numerous papers,
which cluttered his desk. Neatly he folded them and
locked them in the cabinet.

❝ I doubt there will be enough of time.
                 The masquerade is this evening.
It’s impossible to make a new costume
                            in just few hours.

I had to go through hell to prove I'm not insane

❝ I'm bigger than my body
I'm colder than this home
I'm meaner than my demons
I'm bigger than these bones ❞

Had to meet the devil just to know his name
