thewonderingsorceress:

Curiouser and curiouser the female demon became, as well as amused. She had not been this interested in a soul in decades, she had expected to see that the rumors were a false, now she could see there was some truth. She wanted to know if other rumors were true as well. Soft wind blew and played with the demon’s long hair, a sharp canine tooth peeked out as her smile grew. “Well, excuse me for offending you, little Earl.”

When he looked her straight in the eye her amusement flared, he was quite a fun little human. He had such courage for such a young human boy, she could respect him for that, if only just a little because she could only respect food so much. Since she was using a human form she took her hand and placed it over where her heart would be if she were actually human. She gave him a look of fake hurt, “Oh, how you wound me, where are your manners? I am sure your parents raised you to use them. Not every demon lives to eat, because even that gets monotonous.”  The hand on her chest move to the side of her head, fingers tapping it lightly before pushing away. “Ah, I forget sometimes, human’s have such limited time. It is very sad, I am sure. And I have come to see if the rumors are true, so far you have not disappointed. Though I doubt you care about such things. I do hope you stay this way through out your limited time left, it would be such a shame to see the others break you.”

❝ —  Not all demons live to consume.
   But your
priorities make their existence
known.

He clearly disregarded her words about his parents,
guessing beforehand that it was merely done in order
to cut him to the heart. But he wasn’t that easily vulnerable.
Not in such way, for the memory of his parents was pristine.
The method this demoness used to wound him in return only
reaffirmed her treacherous hellish nature. Demons… they
always chose the darkest and the lowest ways to hit their ‘prey’.

Some prey were scared and willing to escape, but Ciel
stayed around, learning all those mischievous ways,
absorbing that devilish lore, acquiring the same color.
Black as the night, shadowy and unfathomable. There
was no way back for him, thence he took all possible
measures to remain in his place of the king. He could
only move forward, overstepping the ruins and corpses.

It could not last forever, alas. And in the corners of his dark
imagination Ciel held his most wicked nightmares and fears.
Deep inside of him Pandora found a good place to hide her
horrible casket and any curiousity showed towards it was
meant to be deadly. Short duration of one human life seemed
menacing, yet Phantomhive felt he had even less of time than
others. His life can end tomorrow or, may be, in a year or few.
And though there was silent fear about it, a bad presentiment,
he wasn’t about to escape. When the day of reckoning will come
— he will be there to pay the price he gave an oath to pay.

I wonder what’s the value of eternity, when you are bored
insomuch that you commence paying attention at every
passing rumor. It’s sad to live a pointless life. But everyone
takes their own decision at this rate.

I had to go through hell to prove I'm not insane

I'm colder than this home
I'm meaner than my demons
I'm bigger than these bones ❞

Had to meet the devil just to know his name
